About Shades of Steel, Inc.

Shades of Steel, Inc. was established in 1988.  While we are a relatively new company to this particular kind of business, the owner is not new to the prefab business.  Carl Rector, Owner & Operator, has been a business owner for over 35 years building equipment for his well servicing business.  In doing the construction of structures for that business he came upon the thought that the general public could benefit from his expertise in the construction of gazebos, wind walls, and covered picnic tables and more.  As a result of this experience, Shades of Steel, Inc. was born.

Shades of Steel has built projects for the Federal Government, Local Government and Special Districts.  In addition to those projects, we have built horse stalls for local citizens and much more.  By being the designer, builder and contract manager, we can offer these projects at a much lower cost than other companies.  

The competition generally do not install the project themselves.  They will sell you their product and assembly is left up to you.  Generally, their price is much higher, even though they do NOT install the structure for you.  Shipping the structure to you can be very costly, this expense is passed on to you by the competition. 

Shades of Steel services areas in Colorado, Utah and Wyoming.  In our service areas we deliver the structure to the site and erect the structure on site.  Concrete surfaces for the structures if needed, will be provided at an additional fee.

We take great pride in the production of our structures.  Our structures are well suited for parks, recreational areas, rest stops and of course for private use in residential areas.  Once constructed, they will last a lifetime. The structure is completely maintenance free and resistant to vandalism.
